Chief James Sartell is pleased to announce that the Townsend Police Department is raising money this November to benefit veterans and their families through Operation Delta Dog.

Operation Delta Dog is an organization that is committed to adopting shelter dogs and training them to be service dogs for local veterans suffering from TBI, PTSD, MST, and other challenges.  Located in Hollis, New Hampshire, the trainers with Deta Dog handpick shelter dogs, adopt them, and train them.  Local veterans can participate in training without leaving their families or jobs while experiencing the love and help of a service dog.

All Townsend Police officers sporting beards this month have pledged to donate $100 as they have in years past for various charities.

In addition to its internal fundraiser, the Townsend Police Department has also created a camouflage version of its uniform patch. The patch is available for sale, with proceeds benefitting Operation Delta Dog.

To request a patch or to donate to Operation Delta Dog send a check for $10 made out to Operation Delta Dog, c/o 70 Brookline Street, Townsend MA 01469.  For online donations, please visit https://app.donorview.com/MNP80  Information can also be found on our website https://www.townsendpd.org/
